Friday Favorites - The Campaign Trail

Because we spend a lot of time flipping through glossy magazines, and most of those pages are filled with advertisements, we inevitably fell in love with a few of the campaigns. Today we bring you, what we think, are the best fashion ad campaigns of the moment...

Laura's Pick...

It will probably come as no surprise that my favorite is the Chanel Spring Summer 2010 campaign starring models Claudia Schiffer, Freja Beha Erichsen and Karl Lagerfeld muse, Baptiste Giabiconi. Shot in Buenos Aires, the ads feature a healthy dose of that gorgeous Chanel lace, a black and white palette, and Lagerfeld-inspired accessories including fingerless gloves, gaucho hats, and embellished belts. LOVE.

Sybil's Pick...

Over breakfast the other morning while we should have been at work, flipping through Vogue and Harpers and commenting on every page, one of my favorite fashionista friends said, something like...The Lanvin ad reminds me of you Sybil. REALLY? Did you just say that...well damn, you are my friend for LIFE! Unfortunately, I don't own a single thing Lanvin (should have been at work that day!) but yes there is something about Lanvin that I just absolutely adore. The one shoulder ruffled dresses and the models dripping in big statement necklaces. Strong women, sexy women, damn well dressed women. Alber Elbaz to me is the cutest and most talented little man there ever was. Therefore Lanvin is my favorite ad campaign this season. Shot by Steven Meisel of course...

Louis Vuitton's 2009 Core Values campaign may be "last year" but it is still, hands-down, my favorite of all fashion campaigns. Photographed by Annie Leibovitz, the campaign featured noteworthy figures such as Sean Connery, astronauts Buzz Aldrin, Jim Loveli and Sally Ride, tennis greats (and couple) Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf, rocker Keith Richards, daughter-father duo Sofia and Francis Ford Coppola, political figure Mikhail Gorbachev, and even the photographer herself, Annie Leibovitz. Gorgeous, genius, memorable - all the things a great ad campaign should be!
