Friday Favorites - Textile Designers

We're not sure if it's normal to get excited about fabric but we three admit that spending hours in a fabric store is our little slice of heaven. Take a look at our favorite textile designers and maybe you too will become a fabric-junkie.

Laura's Picks...

Madeline Weinrib - The Queen of Ikat. Her luxe textile collection features lush colors and opulent patterns and is my favorite source for beautiful pillows and carpets.

Kelly Wearstler - Inspired by fashion and intercontinental travel, these fabrics reflect the detail and texture that has become KW's trademark. My favorite pattern remains Imperial Trellis which is also available as a wall-covering.

Lulu DK - Bold colors and whimsical designs are Lulu de Kwiatkowski's signature. I'm a big fan of her prints, especially the hand-printed Bloomsbury in coral.

Sybil's Picks...

John Robshaw has mastered the art of block printing and traditional fabric making techniques. These patterns are perfect for life in Bali but would work well in any interior.

Muriel Brandolini
's fabrics are lovely and unique.

Trina Turk is modern and fresh and immediately evokes feelings of warm desert days in Palm Springs.

Leslie's Picks...

Born in Italy in 1898 Franco Scalamandre was a co-founder of Scalamandré Inc. one of the United States' most prestigious manufacturers of traditional textiles, decorative textile trims, wall covering, and carpeting. Known for his opulent silks and bold patterns, I love how decadent his fabrics are - true luxury!

I love the friendly and whimsical work of Alexander Girard. Since I am suddenly into all things baby and child I've become slightly obsessed with these great patterns.

My favorite designer of the moment is Barclay Butera. I've been a fan of his interiors for years and now that he's designing textile for Kravet I have even more of him to love. His designs are approachable, comfortable and so classically lovely I can't get enough.
