Labor Day weekend in the US is one of the best holidays of the year. Good times are spent poolside, riverside and beachside with friends and loved ones, soaking in the last days of summer before fall sets in. These photos by Slim Aarons, remind me a bit of my childhood summer days, at my impeccably pulled together grandmother's, hanging poolside and waving to the passing boats along the river. Everyone dressed, drank and played croquet on a picture perfect green lawn. So put on your finest, grab a game of backgammon and an Old Fashioned or Gin and Tonic. Enjoy. Don't check that iphone or blackberry, just old school style fun in the sun without distractions. Oh and here's one of my favorite songs, the perfect end of the summer happy fix.
