Mini Me

Just because they’re small doesn’t mean they can’t be stylish… especially when dressed in these chic little clothing lines for tiny tots. Forget the embroidered frogs and cupcakes. These collections are sophisticated, whimsical, and totally wearable. Here are my current favorites:

Stella McCartney for Gap

This 70-piece collection launched this week and it is fabulous. Chock full of SM’s refined style and signature detailing, the pieces are offered in a fresh palette for fall -soft grays, pistachio, plum, rose, navy, and yellow – and many are mini versions of her designs from past RTW collections (note the intarsia leopard knits). Needless to say, I ran out to BabyGap yesterday and picked up my favorites including the softest gray cashmere leggings with matching hoodie, skinny jeans with ankle zippers, pleated boyfriend pants, a slouchy knit beanie, and a taupe trench that I wish came in my size. I think my daughter Lana has a better start on her winter wardrobe then I do at the moment.

Zara Kids

Your favorite stop for fresh-off-the-runway trends also offers one of the best-edited baby & kids lines around. Chunky knits and faux fur jackets for girls, tiny vests and puffer jackets for boys - you get the picture.

Crew Cuts

Envision one of those infamous J.Crew ads (gorgeous all American couple + preppy chic styling) and shrink it. There you have Crew Cuts, J Crew’s nod to the beautiful offspring of said model couple. I personally love this line and can’t wait for Lana to be old enough to wear it (it’s offered in sizes 3-12).

Sequined tees, bubble skirts, vintage washed denim, Mini Hunter wellies…all the ingredients are there to inject massive amounts of fun, fantasy, and ivy league style into your little darling’s wardrobe.

Crew Cuts’ most famous fans? First Daughters Sasha and Malia Obama.
